Reality
Reminder; by Jim McLean
There are no short cuts to the mastery of golf; intelligent practice is the
only way to narrow the gap between knowing something about the swing and
employing it correctly.
"More is Better" does not always apply to practicing golf. The
secret is to devote your time , whether it's a minute or several hours, to
practical practice.
There are too many golfers ingraining bad technique which will consequently
decrease their chances of ever improving or reaching any pre-set goals.
Driving
Range Tip:
When you are on the range hitting balls, always execute a significant number
of your shots using your full preshot routine. At least twenty percent of
your shots on the range should be hit following a full implementation of your
preshot pattern. This is practicing as you would play. It adds a whole
dimension to practice. Try to hit two of every ten shots using a target and a
preshot routine. This way, your practice will at least somewhat simulate
actual play.
